Bhutan is a small country nestled in the Himalayas, between India and China. It is known for its rich heritage, stunning landscapes, and peaceful people. Bhutan is also the only country in the world that measures its progress by the Gross National Happiness index, rather than the Gross Domestic Product.

Some of the highlights of our tour include:

• The city tour of Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan, where you will visit the Folk Heritage Museum, Handicraft Centre, Tashiccho Dzong, National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Statue, and Clock Tower Square.
• The visit to Dochula Pass, en route to Punakha, where you will see the 108 Memorial Chortens, built in honor of the Bhutanese soldiers who died in a war against insurgents. You will also admire the panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains from the pass.
• The visit to Punakha Dzong, the second oldest and second largest dzong in Bhutan, situated at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. This dzong is also known as the Temple of Fertility, as it is believed that couples who pray here will be blessed with children.
• The city tour of Paro, where you will visit the Drukgyel Dzong, the Victory Fortress, built to commemorate the victory over the Tibetan invaders in the 17th century. You will also see the base of the famous Taktsang Lhakhang, or the Tiger’s Nest, a sacred monastery perched on a cliff, where Guru Rinpoche, the founder of Buddhism in Bhutan, is said to have flown on the back of a tiger.
• The optional full day hike to the Tiger’s Nest, where you will experience the spiritual and physical challenge of climbing up to the monastery, and enjoy the spectacular view of the valley below.
